You should have received a Welcome Aboard private message from your Recruiting Processor with directions and links for installing the mods. You were also assigned a Recruiter, who should be your first point of contact for questions. Send that person a private message. Referring to your Recruiting Processor's response to your application.

Pvt J. Jameson! - Twitch, Videos and Pictures!
2ndLt (Ret) Riggenti replied to J. Jameson's topic in Pictures and Videos
Its there for you to have pillow battles with yer mates up and down the hall. Totally a feature of the hotel and they expect and encourage it. -
We have a 15th MEU community on Twitch, that some members broadcast through (myself included, briggenti4343 on Twitch). You are welcome to stream from the public server. After you complete Rct training the only thing we ask you NOT to record or stream is ITB Day 1-3. You may ask your instructor if its ok with them to stream Day 4.

I have this one, its great, and currently on sale for $40! My only complaint with it is the very long cord requires suspending the headset and letting it un-twist itself, about once a week or so depending on use. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104847

When in game with the Acre plugin enabled, you will not hear anyone over global. That is normal. If you turn off the plugin, you should be able to talk to and hear anyone else who is not running the plugin. Is that what is occurring, or something different?

View distance. It's a helluva drug. -
I'm getting reports from new students that the ip addresses for the TF servers in the Arma3sync repository are incorrect (maybe have not been updated since the TF server ips changed). Please update to current ip's.

Another Arsenal Question/Problem
2ndLt (Ret) Riggenti replied to SSgt (Ret) E. Higgins's topic in Help Desk
From my trials this morning, adding Arsenal via Zeus does not work after the update. Arsenal added to the item in Editor does work when the mission runs. For example, pre-placed ammo boxes in the SOI mission still load Arsenal, but placing 15th Armory boxes and double-clicking looks like it initializes Arsenal but it does not. However, the 15th Loadout Manager will still work on the 15th ammo boxes and load any old loadout you have saved in your profile, as well as the pre-made loadouts. You just can't edit them. What you might do is test pre-making an ammo box manually in Zeus, exporting the sqm to text with Achilles, then importing it again and see if your items saved. I haven't tried that yet but if it works it solves your problem. You can import that text with Achilles into any mission you're running. -
You were sent a private message from your recruiting process, Sgt Latham I believe. In it there were instructions for downloading the official mod set.
-
We will definitely let you know what set will be used. We often refer to it as "standard 15th", and it is used for all official training and operations. Once you apply, your recruiter will send you directions for installing the 15th official mod pack. If you're on our public server, the information for that mod set is posted in the Server Information thread, and it is a different set than our official mod pack.

Ok Vegas Edit is $150 Vegas Pro is $400
-
I'm not sure how much video editing you do, or how complex, but I've been very happy with Corel VideoStudio Pro x10 and its only $64 vs $400 for Vegas. I use it to edit multicamera music events, and multiple Arma captures and it does well. You could go 'Ultimate' for $80 for a few extra features. But if you're making money making videos, then by all means go for the full monty.

I recommend getting them straight from the Community Upgrade Project page cup-arma3.org/download for this update. I've never had an issue with corrupted files from there, and download speeds are acceptable.

Which server are you trying to connect to? I'm going to guess the public server since you are using all Steam Workshop mods. That screenshot shows you are ONLY running CUP Terrains Core and Maps. You need to check the boxes next to all the required mods in order to run them, too. Here's the info for the public server: https://15thmeu.net/index.php?/forums/topic/170-15th-meu-soc-official-public-server-information/ If you're trying to connect to a 15th Official server, to complete Rct training for example, then you need to use the links provided to you by your Recruiter. Do not use the Steam Workshop versions. You can have both sets installed, you just have to save an Arma Launcher set for the 15th Public Server, AND a set for 15th Official mods.

Yes, you missed me hitting puberty and my voice finally dropped. -
Always the option to wipe your mod folder, and re-download from fresh. The TFAR plugin update is also throwing some for a loop.

Do you get the same error with Abramia not running? (same server)
-
^^^^ means the server is running Isla Abramia and you are not. And if that is the only error you see in the chat log, everything else is good to go.

If you don't see the 'Resignation' or 'Lateral Transfer' form from the 'Forms' link at the top, you can try the 'Request a Transfer' link at the top of the 'Transfers and Lateral Moves' forum, or use the ones I linked here. If you are looking to go to Reserves, you can use the same transfer form.

I made one recently and was able to get the well deck and hangar deck set up. I stopped short of adding ACE to the flight deck but with some trial and error you should be able to place some air assets up there. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B2c37fNovV4iWlQwRzh4VjkwWG8

15th Ammo and ACE Google download links broken
2ndLt (Ret) Riggenti replied to 2ndLt (Ret) Riggenti's topic in Help Desk
Edited, good catch. Is there a different place to report these? -
Google links for 15th Ammo Box and 15th ACE on the Mod Pack page are broken. Mega links ARE working.

Arma relies more heavily on the processor than the gpu. Your setup should do fine on middle settings (or better). My pc is a potato with worse specs and it only really drops fps during the large battles.

@Pvt DeSol SOI Students can fill in as basic riflemen, which means they cannot fill any role other than Rifleman, Automatic Rifleman, or Assistant Automatic Rifleman. You would have to ask the ACE or Support Elements if they need anyone to fill those roles. In those vehicles, it would basically be as a passenger. LED is the Law Enforcement Detachment. Same rule applies, you may fill in as one of those three roles if they need it. The 15th Recruiting Server is our public server. Anyone may use it if they adhere to the rules, and use the required mods (which are different than the 15th standard set). There you can find pick-up groups. If there are a bunch of 15th members on (15th SOC TeamSpeak tag), I would recommend it. That can happen most any evening, usually on Friday or Saturday evenings. Here's how you should make contact to politely ask to fill in: Get yours mods in good working order. Test them in an official server. Make yourself loadouts for each of those three roles. You can refer to the Unit Policy Manual, Section 16 for detailed loadouts, and build them in Virtual Arsenal. Sure fire method is when someone posts in Global that they need fill ins. You can then feel free to join their channel and ask verbally. Another method is to open a text chat with the owner of the channel 15 minutes prior to the training event start. DO NOT POKE! NEVER USE POKE ON A STRANGER! For example: 15 minutes prior to Archer 4-1's Section training this Saturday night at 1900CST, you send a text chat to the owner of the channel where it looks like everyone is gathering. Ask, "Hello, do you need any fill ins?". They will politely, hopefully, reply, "Yes, good sir, we would very much like to have you fill in with us in Archer 4-1 this fine Saturday evening at 1900CST, for we are a happy bunch and enjoy the company of all willing souls." Join the channel, follow directions, and have good time fun! Hope that helps!

Using the Calendar, I recommend the following types of events for ITB students: Rifle Squad (e.g. Archer #-#), Platoon (Archer #), and Weapons Section (Archer 4-#) training events. There are at least one of those per week, often more. These size of events give a good perspective on working as part of a team that is also part of a squad or section, and platoon. They also have the most need for fill-ins. You get to see a wide level of ranks and experience levels, and the only real expectation on you is to follow orders and keep your head down and hold on as best you can ('cause its gonna get hectic!). If you are going through MCT, I still recommend similar size events in Gator, Titan, and ACE. Even if you have friends that are in the unit, stretch yourself and go join a training with complete strangers. We all won't be strangers for long!
