  1. Well shoot, @LCpl J. Perez, I dusted off the 15th URL in my browser and realized I missed this, but hopefully you'll get the notification and see it eventually. Thank you for the kind words, you took on a lot of difficulties leading that rowdy bunch and always approached it with q desire to learn and improve yourself. Congrats on starting your officer academy! I have no doubts you'll do well and apply any painful lessons you've learned here about working with people with diverse backgrounds, goals and opinions. Take good care of yourself!
  2. This is not lesser known among JTACs and ACE, as you use a crap ton of radios and do this already (I think). In ITB, we taught Acre 'transmit' setup on three different keys (Capslock, Ctrl+Capslock, etc), mirroring the old TFAR setup. We did this to make it easier for new GCE joins to get up and running on two radios (Team and Squad nets). I recently switched to using one key to transmit over the currently active radio (Capslock) and one key to cycle between active radios (Shift+Capslock). I do recommend it as you start to use more than 2 active radios at a time. I haven't tried it on vehicle racks but I assume after you've added the vehicle rack to your active radios (via ACE interaction menu), you can incorporate it into your cycled radios. You can also use Ctrl+Up/Down arrow (or set it to a different keybind) to change channels on your currently active radio, without having to open that radio. That should make quick work of setting up vehicle radios.
  3. Welcome! Been there, not quite that long, but I still get sad when I think about that time I attempted to move with all my belongings to a greener pasture in my stealth badger, and got ganked in less than 10 seconds on the other side of a lowsec gate. Good times, good times. We have a group here with a current obsession with Space Engineers, if you like space and building. But if that isn't your gig, just wait a month. I'm sure this ADHD support group will move on to the next thing.
  4. Aw, and miss the lol opportunities? You can use the link below to get it changed officially in all the e-file cabinets: https://15thmeu.net/index.php?/forums/topic/1937-name-changes/
  5. Aside from the public server, you are welcome to fill in for any infantry training (Archer 1, Archer 2, Archer 4). I recommend squad or platoon-sized events. Check the Calendar (under Resources), the Master Roster (under About Us), and squad and platoon TeamSpeak channels to confirm training times. About 15 minutes before the event starts, ask the squad or platoon leader if you can fill in. Most will say yes! (If they say no, tell me and I'll hunt them down and guilt them) Side note to any team, squad, or platoon leader. If you see Mr. Cartwright, or any SOI student, in TS and you're about to have a training, say hello and invite them. This IS a social group, after all.
  6. The pattern I've seen, and seems to be reiterated in S2 Zeus, is the 152 and 117 radios in the saved loadout don't work. If you pull a new radio from Arsenal, it will work. I remember a similar issue we had with TFAR radios a while back, and having to pull radios separately from loadouts.
  7. Welcome, Mr Ah Loy! I think you'll find the people aspect of the community and the platform (cause Arma really is a sandbox) to be the most rewarding challenge. We have a very wide variety of backgrounds, interests, reasons for playing, and skill level, and that variety ALWAYS keeps it interesting!
  8. You'd have to go to the individual server owner then, but De Munck is correct in that the errors indicate a CUP mismatch.
  9. Which server are you referring to? The public server? An unofficial training server?
  10. Well poop, I was hoping it would be an easy fix like that, but thank you for the confirmation.
  11. And everyone is going into Controls > Configure Addons > Acre2 and deleting the default Radio Push to Talk keybind (default set to Capslock) and only assigning keys to Alternate PTT 1, 2 and 3? That is highly recommended for a less confusing experience.
  12. @C/LCpl Sanderson still cannot get Acre2 to connect to TeamSpeak. Acre2 2.6.1.992 TeamSpeak 3.1.10 Here's a screenshot of his Acre log Anyone else follow all the directions and Acre2 still not connect to TS?
  13. Here is officially what you can run in the SOI Backup servers. They run the standard 15th set, which was communicated to you when you applied. https://docs.google.com/drawings/d/1MGwmo2EEevSuheAP2xskPHycS9OvSAO6E716iduOUP4/edit?usp=sharing I recommend not running Enhanced Movement, JSRS or Shacktack until you have the core standard set running.
  14. Associated Press: June 23rd, 1900 hours local time: A truck bomb was driven through the Altis checkpoint southwest of Athrikira and detonated as it reached the the Republic of Eastern Altis checkpoint in an apparent suicide attack. No one has yet claimed responsibility but it sparked an immediate and severe counterattack by REA security forces on Altis and USMC forces stationed at the DMZ. Within a few minutes of the counterattack, REA and unknown supporting forces launched devastating artillery attacks on the Altis military bases at Fort Ares and the Altis International Airport, killing hundreds of Altis forces and destroying significant numbers of Altis and USMC aircraft and armored vehicles. Major utilities were also hit, including destruction of the solar Power Plant. Remaining Altis forces withdrew to the and the USS Mathew Barton and USS Adam Corium, stationed off the western coast of Altis. (link to image album) FOB Liberty after attack FARP Lightning/Altis Airport after attack 0100 local time REA forces have pushed across the DMZ with significant armor and ground forces, establishing a new front line nearly to the mountains of western Altis. A previous no-fly zone established by Altis and USMC air forces has effectively been broken. REA helicopters and planes were seen operating freely above eastern and central Altis, however several REA aircraft were shot down as they attempted to cross over Altis and USMC controlled airspace, proving the attack was effective, but ultimately not successful in overtaking the entire island. Situation: USMC is regrouped on USS Adam Corium. Altis forces are holding the line at the mountains. REA forces pushing east. The city of Agios Dionysios (09,15) is under imminent threat of heavy armor attack. 15. Left Windows key (interact on other things and people) and Left Ctrl + Left Windows (self-interact) key are the primary keys for pulling up medical, group, radio, cargo, repair, and arsenal functions. You can get close to objects, vehicles and people then interact on them to see all of the available functions. One thing I would recommend is to go into your Controls > Addons > ACE Interaction menu and set the interaction menu to display as lists. There are some other Interaction menu settings you can play with to make them display easier for you, but that one is a big one for ease-of-use. I still use the mouse scroll wheel a lot when carrying a launcher as it allows quick change between looking through a range finder and the launcher, and also when switching between types of ammo. If you're a tank gunner, its also used to switch between types of ammo for the main gun.

  17. Russia steps up help for REA to match USMC support of Western Altis June 10, 2018 After the U.S. declares its support of the central Altis government by deploying the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit and supporting assets, the REA declares a no-fly zone above its airspace. Both sides build a hasty de-militarized zone stretching from Kalithea Bay to Pyrgos Bay. Heavily fortified checkpoints have choked traffic between the two sides at Kalithea and Anthrakia. Map of new border between western and easter Altis, with forces establishing a heavily guarded DMZ across the narrowest portion of the island. Russia has also stepped up the stakes by sending thousands of tons of military equipment and supplies into Pyrgos harbor under the cover of darkness, but footage of the buildup was smuggled out of Pyrgos harbor. Heavy armor and supplies are clearly visible before the cameraman was discovered by a patrol and killed. Unconfirmed reports of Russian special forces entering the region are also surfacing, but proof is suspect. A photo of military shipping activity off the northeastern coast may provide evidence of stepped up Russian support with advanced naval hardware. Photo courtesy of local fishermen At this time a tense stalemate has established, but nearly anything could cause a spark that would ignite the entire island nation, and region, into a proxy war between major military forces. CP Alpha, Altis forces checkpoint between Telos and Kalithea. REA forces hold the crossing on the other side of the DMZ, less than 300 meters away.
  18. Altis government requests USMC support after terrorist attacks. On May 28, 2018, a group of armed men in civilian clothing stormed and took over the resort in the Iraklia, killing three Americans during the attack. After receiving official requests for military support from the Altis central government, the U.S. has deployed the 15th MEU and an LHD to arrive June 9th and establish forward operating position at the Altis International Airport. Its mission is to provide support to the government's new offensive against the militias in the form of training, surveillance, security of critical infrastructure, and air superiority. History and genes divide Western and Eastern Altis. Western has more recently controlled the government due to more resources and population, and Eastern has been marginalized. Loose militias in the East have harassed government forces and police, and the Eastern political wing has recently declared the eastern half of Altis to be the new “Republic of Eastern Altis” and an ally of Russia.
