As we announced earlier this year, effective as of Sunday ArmA 3 APEX is now required for all members.
Due to the nature of this expansion, however, we do not have an effective way of checking that you all have the expansion, other than the honor system. Which is how this will be assumed that you have it. We are trusting that each and every one of you that, while in Active Duty, have purchased the Apex expansion. If you have not done so, we are trusting you to move yourself to Reserves until such time that you do purchase.
This is your only warning. If you are in Active Duty, and do not own the expansion, you do so at your own risk. If you are in Active Duty, and you report to an FTX or Operation, and are not able to join that FTX or Operation because you do not own APEX, you will face a severe Command Staff Level Formal Disciplinary Action, and will be immediately moved to Reserves. This goes the same for anyone who is found to be skipping APEX-required-specific FTXs or Operations because they do not own it.
If you don't have it... get it before we go to an APEX map, or move yourself to Reserves until you do own it.
For the past year or two we have been utilizing the Bohemia ArmA 3 Units feature to display our XML. Unfortunately Bohemia has completely dropped the ball and failed with the project, not only with lack of real support, but the inability for member managers to remove members, and the 500 member limit which they will not be changing and have no interest in enforcing on those units already over 500 members. These, and other minor things, have proven the platform inadequate for our needs. We will still have an ArmA 3 Units page, but it will be an open group and not maintained by anyone.
With this in mind, we will be returning to the Squad XML page format. This is a very simple change, and requires only one adjustment on your behalf. You must launch your game, and on the main menu go to you profile. You will then click on the Unit tab, and click Edit. In the UNIT dropdown select 'Custom'. In the Squad XML dialog enter:
Then hit apply. That's it! From thereon your information will be maintained by S-1 Personnel. There is not further input on your part necessary.
Any questions may be directed here. I know this is an older system so some of the Chain of Command may not be familiar with it.
For clarification, this is what the page looks like:

After two years of faithful service at the highest level, Sergeant Major Masters has decided he would like to move on from the position, and will be moving to command the Cadet Corps. We thank him for his service, and look forward to continuing our working relationship in his new position, and wish him well.
This does, however, leave the position of the Unit Sergeant Major available.
Effective immediate, First Sergeant Hoagland will be assuming the billet of Sergeant Major, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (SOC), Realism Unit, as the Unit's 8th Sergeant Major. As an experienced and dedicated infantryman and company command member, 1stSgt Hoagland will bring new life into squishing little Lance Corporals into dust, to which we welcome him with open arms.
Captain K. White has decided to return to the ground, and will be vacating the post of Cadet Corps Commanding Officer. As the first commander of the Cadet Corps, we are ever grateful for the dedication and professionalism he infused into the position, and to the Cadet Corps himself. For that service we thank him, and welcome him back to the dirty boots.
Taking over for him, Sergeant Major Masters has decided he has been aloft long enough, and will be moving from the position of Sergeant Major, 15th MEU to the Cadet Corps Commander position. He will be re-ranked to Master Gunnery Sergeant. The position of Cadet Corps Commander will be renamed to Senior Cadet Corps Instructor (SCCI) and may be filled by a Senior NCO or Officer, while the position of Cadet Corps SNOIC will be renamed to Cadet Corps Instructor (CCI) and may be filled by an NCO of Officer junior to the SCCI.
Gunnery Sergeant Astope has decided to finally hang up his spurs as well, after years of dedicated service to the unit. He will be missed, and we thank him for everything he's done and wish him well in his future endeavors.
Replacing him, Second Lieutenant Frey will be returning to the Senior NCO Corps and taking over the position of Company Gunnery Sergeant.
First Lieutenant Karelia has decided to move on from the life of an infantryman and will be taking over the recently vacated Platoon Commander position for 2nd Platoon, Delta Company (Titan).
Taking Mr. Karelia's spot, we welcome Staff Sergeant N. J. Frost to the Officer Corps and the infantry. He will be taking the position of Platoon Commander, 1st Platoon, India Company (Archer 1) as a Second Lieutenant (in Training).
With First Sergeant Hoagland leaving the First Sergeant Position, Mr. Frey will be immediately promoted the position of First Sergeant, India Company and will be returning to the Senior NCO Corps as a First Sergeant.
These changes are all effective 02OCT17. Congratulations gentlemen, and good luck!
Recently Captain Gaden notified us of his intention to finally retire from the Unit. This is unfortunate, and we are very sad to see such a celebrated and great company commander leave us. But personal pursuits must be but above all else, and we wish Captain Gaden all the best in his future life endeavors. Fair winds, Captain.
However we continue on. Thus it is with pleasure we announce that First Lieutenant J. Murphy will be stepping in to fill the shoes of Commanding Officer, India Company. Stepping in as his Executive Officer will be Staff Sergeant Graff, whom will be transferring back from his tour as Force Reconnaissance as a First Lieutenant.
These changes are effective immediately. Good luck gentlemen, and welcome.
This topic will be maintained for future additional changes coming very soon.
