OPERATION: "Scotland II" DATE: SATURDAY, 10JUN23 @1900 SERVER INFO: NAME: 15th MEU (SOC) [Unofficial] - Vietnam FunOp PASSWORD: 15NAM (Server will be up a couple of hours before stepoff time for people test their mods) MOD LIST: HERE ROSTER: HERE (If you are looking to sign up, please do so below by stating at minimum which slot you are wanting or contact DestroyerZone#7424 on discord) !!THIS IS A PUBLIC OPERATION, ALL ARE WELCOME AND FEEL FREE TO BRING A FRIEND!! NOTE: Leadership positions are prioritized to 15th members. ORIENTATION: After Stingray 3’s patrol south of Khe Sanh base to test the North Vietnamese Army (NVA) strength, they encountered unexpectedly large forces as they proceeded to Khe Sanh Village. Stingray 3 made their way to the friendly held FOB located within the village and made contact with the forces there to understand the situation. Reports that came in from those stationed at the FOB included mention of “Stingray 3 went rogue, they murdered civilian forces when not posing a threat.” Stingray 3 is under investigation. As of 3 hours ago, all forces were ordered to withdraw from Khe Sanh Air Base due to the inability to remain stable and protected in a stationary position. A final mission has come in for Blacksheep 3 to push back out to Hill 881 South. There was word that the NVA forces have been using the outpost there as an artillery front to bombard Khe Sanh Base. AA threat is too high for any aircraft to get too close. MISSION: LOCATION: Khe Sanh DATE: July 5th 1968 TIME: 1700L UNIT: 3rd Platoon, Alpha Company, 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines It is the mission of 3rd Platoon to find and destroy the NVA artillery and return to Khe Sanh Base before sundown so as to not be left behind by the C-130. If at any point the mission does not go according to plan, 3rd Platoon is to RTB as to not miss their ride out. ENEMY FORCES: INTEL ACCURACY: 9/10 Enemy forces are located at Hill 881 South: X2 NVA Infantry Platoon - 304th Division, 66th Regiment X2 NVA Artillery Batteries - 264th Artillery Regiment Foliage is dense in the area with minimal visibility. ORIENTATION: After Stingray 2’s successful delaying action at Hill 881 North and the unfortunate high casualty rate of Stingray 1, the North Vietnamese Army (NVA) have fully retreated and have not sent out a full attack on any outposts in Khe Sanh since. There has been a lull in full scale attacks for almost a month now and so, Stingray 3 of Bravo Company has been tasked with patrolling the area south of Khe Sanh Base towards Khe Sanh Village. They are to test the strength of NVA forces within the area and as such search and destroy any enemy forces that are encountered. MISSION: LOCATION: Khe Sanh DATE: February 25, 1968 TIME: 0540L UNIT: 3rd Platoon, Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 26th Marine Regiment It is the mission of 3rd Platoon, Bravo Company to set foot south of Khe Sanh Base and patrol along the marked path towards Khe Sanh Village to test the NVA forces within the area. A detachment of UH-1Ds, M113s, and an A-7C have been assigned to support 3rd platoon in their operation. ENEMY FORCES: INTEL ACCURACY - 2/10 Enemy forces are located south of Khe Sanh Base: X1 NVA Infantry Platoon - 304th Division, 66th Regiment Foliage is dense in the area with minimal visibility. ORIENTATION: The North Vietnamese Army (NVA) has continued to conduct sporadic attacks on various friendly outposts located throughout Khe Sanh. Amongst these outposts, hill 881 South which was attacked in a full frontal assault of NVA forces. The marines that were stationed there managed to hold off the attack taking severe casualties as they were engaged by enemy artillery, T-54s, and a company of infantry. We are expecting another assault soon. MISSION: LOCATION: Khe Sanh DATE: January 20, 1968 TIME: 1300L UNIT: 2nd Platoon, Kilo Company, It is the mission of 2nd Platoon, Kilo company to deploy to hill 881 North and attempt to delay the NVA forces that are predicted to assault 881 South again. Follow on objective is to locate and eliminate the enemy artillery emplacements to hinder any future assaults within the coming days. A detachment of UH-1Ds, AH-1Gs, F-4Js, and A-1Js have been assigned to support 2nd Platoon in their operation. Public Actions are conducted on the same mission the Public Server is already running, and missions are planned on-the-fly by the signed up event leader as the event begins. By organizing, kitting out, and operating in the way the 15th MEU actually does in operations, these events provide the public with an opportunity to see our skills and participate in organized combat activity. Q: What do you mean "organizing", can't I just grab a rifle and go? Public actions showcase the coordination, tactics, and skills of the unit. We ask that everyone participating fills a required role as directed by the event leader, and operates with their group the same way our e-Marines do. Q: But I always play as US Army and carry a sniper rifle and Javelin, can't I do that? Public actions also show the cooperation and power of a properly equipped Marine unit. We ask that everyone participating uses the weapons and gear that would be used by the role they are filling. After the event is done, you can load out to your heart's content. Q: What's the plan, do we know ahead of time? No pre-plan is done for Public Actions, as they continue with the tasks of the current Public Server mission.
