OPERATION ORDER Iron Breakwater 17th MEU 29th Mar 2026 (Operatsion Start 1800cst real time) ORIENTATION: + Weather: Sunny Time of Operation: 1100cst (in game time) Operation location: Kunar Province Vegetation in the area and its effects on visibility: Vegitation, Tall Hills. Key terrain in the area: Vegitation and Hills Important Tactical Control Measures: FOB Alamo: 005 003 Primary LZ: 013 002 ASHAT: 011 009 SITUATION: Situation Update: The 2/9 Marines stationed at FOB Alamo are currently combat-ineffective and completely encircled. Insurgent forces have seized the high ground and the primary supply route (PSR) through the valley, cutting off all logistics. Enemy forces (TSUALE or SALUTE) Size: Unknown Activity: Assaulting FOB Alamo Location: North, Eastern and South of FOB Alamo and ASHAT Equipment:Small Arms, Explosives, Rocket Propeled Grenades, Technicals. Enemy Capabilities and Limitations: Enemy Most Likely Course of Action: (EMLCOA) After being engaged by Vanguard enemy is likely to regroup at ASHAT and prepare defenses. Friendly Forces Adjacent Units: GREENFOR forces (TSUALE or SALUTE) Size:Fireteam Unit:2/9 Marine Unit Activity: Defending FOB Alamo Location: FOB Alamo Supporting Units: Titan 3 (CH-53) Reaper 2 (AH-1Z) Hunter 1 (UH-1Y) MISSION: Vanguard 1 will conduct a heavy-lift insertion at Primary LZ, neutralize enemy ridge-line presence flanking the approach, relieve the garrison at FOB Alamo, and secure the Enemy Occupied Town to restore the flow of supplies to the AO. Higher's Mission: Vanguard will have secured FOB Alamo and taken back supply route by ASHAT EXECUTION: PHASE I: The Insertion Transport: Titan 3 will deliver Vanguard to Primary LZ. Overwatch: Reaper 2 will provide high-altitude suppression of any AA or heavy technicals near the LZ. Objective: Establish the "Wedge" and prepare for a disciplined push West. PHASE II: Relieving the Alamo Vanguard will advance toward FOB Alamo through the valley floor. Hunter 1 and Reaper 2 will provide low-level reconnaissance to spot IEDs or ambushes along the path. Vanguard 1-1 will lead the breach into the FOB, while 1-2 and 4-1 suppress the enemy-held ridges. Objective: Stabilize the Alamo and establish a casualty collection point. PHASE III: Clearing the PSR (The Town) Once the base is secure, Vanguard will pivot North-East to the Enemy Occupied Town. This town is the strategic "cork" in the supply line. Objective: Conduct house-to-house clearance. Eliminate all insurgent occupancy to reopen the valley for logistics convoys. ADMIN AND LOGISTICS: Rules of Engagement (ROE) Non-military model vehicles should be considered civilian and should not be engaged. Destruction of civilian property and infrastructure should be avoided where feasible. CASEVAC/Reinsertion Plan Air insertion net 65 Enemy Prisoners of War (EPWs) Any unit that captures a prisoner of war will follow all rules of armed conflict and treat the prisoners humanely. Search, silence, segregate, safeguard and tag all EPWs and bring them to the senior leadership. Ammo/Loadouts Resupply will be coordinated with ACE COMMAND AND SIGNAL: Location of command: TBD Succession of command: TBD Signal Plan: The use of smoke, in the form of 40mm and hand tossed grenades, is to be used to both communicate and obstruct enemy line of sight to ease movement. Each smoke color will have an associated meaning when seen. The following outlines the default meaning of each smoke color. These assigned meanings may be altered per mission, with the exception of red smoke, at the discretion of the Task Force Commander. In this event, these changes MUST be specified in the Task Force’s respective OPORD under the “Command and Signal” section. Green - Identify a Friendly Position Red - Identify an Enemy Position Yellow - Identifies Explosives White - Concealment Purple - Used to identify a mass casualty situation. While this does not mean that there are no corpsmen around, it does mean that the corpsmen need help in treating the casualties on their own and are requesting assistance from other corpsmen or CLS infantrymen. Blue - Used to indicate a breakdown of Command. All the officers, SNCO's and NCO's are dead and no command is in place for the rest. Orange - Special Duty smoke that’s meaning is assigned during the planning phase at the discretion of the task force commander.
