Best headsets/headphones and mics for Arma 3?

Recommended Posts

I'm currently using G933 but they are crapping out after only half a year of buying them, I'm looking for a good headset or headphones and mic. I want 7.1 surround sound either in headset or sound card/motherboard, so I can tell where the shots are coming from. I have an MSI 970A-G43 Plus. I read that it'd be better to get headphones and an external mic rather than a headset. I'M NOT LOOKING AT PRICE TAGS RIGHT NOW, I'm just looking for good quality.

I use the Logitech G430. Very nice with a reasonable cost (less than these fancy pants with their $80-$120 headphones). It has a built on microphone, but I use the Blue Yeti.

I don't think the game really needs to be a factor in buying a headset but I use a RoG StriX and it's beautiful.

Yeah Hyper X cloud II is what I am using, they have a newer version that looks like it might be the new winner for best headset how ever.

Hyper X Cloud II <-- I use this one

Hyper X Revolver S <-- Hyper X newer headset

You will notice the Hyper X Revolver is like $20 or $30 cheaper, I believe the difference is the 7.1 dolby surround sound. Spend the extra money or go with the Cloud II

I've got the Hyper X Cloud as well, excellent headset. But, when I switched to my Sennheiser 373D I have yet to look back, but then again, the price difference is something like 150-180 USD, so yeah. For a good headset that you won't have to worry about for a long time, definitely the Hyper X Cloud, however if you want something on the top end, you can't beat Sennheiser or Audio-technica headsets

I dont think theres any headset/headphones and mics for specialized for Arma 3 based on your question, if it works on one game or anything it should work just as fine with Arma 3.

Its like asking "What is the best headset/headphones and mics for Pornhub?"

Although having a 7.1 headset might give you a slight advantage, but if you're not used to hearing different channels then you probably gonna get disoriented.

For all those who said that there aren't headset/headphone and mics specialized for arma 3, I didn't mean specialized for it I meant the ones you like the best when playing Arma 3. Obviously 7.1 surround sound is a must, I figure most are gonna be virtual surround sound as headsets with 7 drivers is too expensive. I'm thinking of getting the AT2020 I plan on using it to record gameplay as well as use it as a mic for Arma 3.

Hyper X Cloud is an amazing headset for around 110$ depending where you buy it.

If you are looking for a cheaper option is the Turtle Beach Ear Force Recon 50X which is about 45 - 50$.

I just utilize the Pony Express and send a letter to Capt Gage in Texas (Usually takes a month or so one way). Always worked fine for me. Kids these days....

I use steel series arctis 7. My mic is a Blue Yeti blackout. Best setup I've had in years.

I would recommend a microphone and headset separately. I currently use a RODE NT-usb and astros. But it comes to budget and preference in the end. Got to be comfortable.

I personally use the Kingston HyperX Cloud Core headset. Great sound with good highs and lows (neodymium speaker magnets) and a good quality mic. Can pick them up for about $80CDN shipping included.

If you have money, ODell's idea is generally best. I would go with Senheisser headphones with angled drivers and a good quality third party mic that attaches to the headphones.

About us

First and foremost - we are NOT the real 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit. We are an ArmA III Realism Unit with a very high view of the Corps, and a very high view on realistic gaming. We gather and play to simulate a Marine Corps environment, in honor of the real Leathernecks who serve. The real 15th MEU can be found here.

We play ArmA III using various community-made mods in a realistic manner in order to have fun and impart values of knowledge, leadership, and action to our members. Everyone comes here for different reasons, but everyone leaves or stays an e-Marine, and that's something that can't be taken away. Our goal for each of our members is to impart valuable knowledge to them not just for a game, but something that will stay with them for their life and hopefully make them better for it.
