Why do you want to join the 15th MEU (SOC) Realism Unit?: Greetings,

I'm a mil-sim player who's been playing and training others to play Arma 3 realism for about three years. I'm a US Army veteran who has spent time as both active and reserve. My reserve time has been spent in a training support unit whose role it is to observe, coach and teach/mentor other units as they train. As an active duty soldier I spent my time supporting combat units as a communications specialist. My Arma 3 experience is with small infantry units where I have filled the roles of all basic fire team positions including FTL. I've also spent time as a squad leader, RTO (my prefered role), forward observer, unit BCT instructor, and occasional taxi-driver (read: rotary wing pilot). Where possible, I usually like to fill support roles, help train people new to Arma, work with people to resolve gameplay issues, and work with others to plan and execute missions.

I have spent some time on your public servers in the past. I enjoyed my experience while operating as a Warhorse pilot and mortar support. It's been probably over a year since I've played on your servers, but I did make a few friends, one of them being 2Lt Bates (http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198004130690/). I'm not sure if he remembers me anymore, though we are still friends on Steam.

I'm interested in taking a peek inside of the 15th MEU and seeing what the culture is like of a large mil-sim unit. I tend to take the time I spend training and preparing for a mission relatively seriously. There is a time for joking around and treating a game like a game, and there is time to treat things a bit more seriously and not waste other people's time. Outside of Arma, I've spent the past three years as an admin/moderator of the DayZ community, DayzUnderground. As a team, we managed two servers (US and EU), a large TS and a very active Subreddit. Being apart of a community is very important to me when it comes to gaming as I typically don't enjoy the solo gameplay style.

I look forward to hearing back from you and hope you had a good holiday break!
