PFC H. Harris

Initials

Question

Been thinking long and hard about bailing on the old "H" initial in my name. But I'm not even sure if there's a process for that. Is there?

If you were given an initial it's because someone preceded you in the unit with the same last name. They retain the use of Harris without the initial. You have to keep yours.

That or someone made a mistake, which is always a possibility.

You can request a name change through H&S company. But there has to be a valid reason, but you probably have the H. due to someone else having the name of Harris.
