Attention All Hands,
Effective immediately there will be a change to how points for work in Collateral Duty billets are assigned:
-Every individual may be assigned a maximum of two (2) points per department each month.
For example, if you are an S-1 General Personnel Clerk and an S-1 A&D Clerk, you may still get up to two points each month for work in each department (a total of four, in this example). But you may not be assigned more than two points for work solely in the S-1 General Personnel Clerk department.
A department is characterized by a sub-division of an S-Shop that has a leader assigned to it (examples include S-1 Processors, S-1 Recruiters, S-4 Mod Team, S-4 Mission Team, etc.). It is preferred that the department leader sends their point recommendation to the S-Shop Chief or Officer, who posts a master list at the end of each month, but it is acceptable for the Department Leader to post of their own accord. If posting is missed for a month, it is not allowed to assign extra points the following month to make up for this. If you forget to post, those people lose points. This is the same as if a leader were to forget/fail to post a Patrol Report.
If an S-Shop Officer/Chief feels someone merits beyond the two points allocated, then they may expend leadership points to make up for this deficit. This is subject to the denial by MEU HQ, however, as all leadership points are.
