Looking for Headset Suggestions

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, Currently looking for a decent Headset with mic attached as I do not have a actual Microphone setup yet, With this being said, ive tried Logitech headsets, and Razor headsets along with turtle beaches... My budget is $150 or below, I do alot of gaming and streaming and some youtube work, So if anyone could please suggest some decent headsets that would be very appreciated.

(Im currently looking at getting the Astro - A40 TR Headset unless i get other suggestions.)

I have this one, its great, and currently on sale for $40!

My only complaint with it is the very long cord requires suspending the headset and letting it un-twist itself, about once a week or so depending on use.

I would also recommend the HyperX Cloud II (Haven't owned one of these though) or the Logitech G430 (Had one for 3 years but had to repair it every 3-4 months after 2 years of daily use).

For streaming I would definitely suggest that you should look into a separate studio microphone and headset.

I tried to use the HyperX Cloud II but both the original I bought and the replacement had REALLY bad noise in the little digital surround sound thing.

My current setup:

Headphones: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IT0IHOY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

Mic: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006DIA77E/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

The setup works well for me, but I also bought a boom for the mic.

2 things to keep in mind about these headphones.

1. If you wear glasses, the headphones will squash them on your head and it will be painful after ~ 3 hours of continuous use.

2. These are monitor headphones. Meaning both bass and treble are not boosted or muted. If you want that sort of thing you can enable a software equalizer and mess with the frequency values as you see fit (explosions in arma can be down right terrifying if you get it setup nice)
