Public Server Help Request: Allow-list arsenal stripping equipment

Recommended Posts

Type of Issue: Bug

Date Observed: 10/11/2020

Severity: Minor

Mission Name: All Missions

Issue Details: When using the new arsenal through the scroll wheel, if you use the take loadout option, normally allowed weapons in the arsenal will get removed from your inventory. The message it prompts is; following item [item_name] is not allowed.

Suggestions: This can possibly be fixed by updating the mission's files allowed items list. Being able to take a loadout straight away is a great new future and would be beneficial to all players if this was fixed.

To me, it sounds like an old issue that was prevalent in the past.  The class name of the weapon can change depending on what attachments are on the gun, which causes it to not be on the whitelist for the arsenal anymore.  Best way to fix that is to either save the loadouts with all the attachments you want in your inventory instead of on the gun, or get the new classname and request it be added after attaching everything.

This is correct. Vanilla Arma 3 doesn't natively support weapons with different grip addons, the way that RHS achieves that is by silently swapping your rifle for a nearly-identical but different one when you equip a grip-changing attachment like a vert grip or AFG. If that alternate grip rifle is not also in the whitelist, it will not allow you to get the weapon, even though it is functionally the same item. ACE Arsenal can adjust to make this work seamlessly, but the deployment screen in Liberation does not work directly through ACE Arsenal and is not as robust.

The suggested work-around does not resolve the reported issue.

If an approved item is being stripped from your loadout on spawn, please provide the class name as requested. It will be fixed when I have the requested information necessary to implement the fix.

It's not clear what class names you need nor whether certain items are intentionally blacklisted. Do you need the accessorized gun class or each individual accessory? The problem currently is that it's completely inconsistent right now and requires a complete audit of every rifle combined with every grip and accessory to find out which ones would need to be separately whitelisted if you're trying to avoid duplicates. Doing this via the arsenal and redeploy screen is a massive PITA. Example:  All grips excluding bipods currently in the arsenal are disallowed on all base-black M4's (rhs_weap_m4 : Rhs_weap_m4_grip1, Rhs_weap_m4_grip2, Rhs_weap_m4_grip3 ). HOWEVER - The black AFG (rhsusf_acc_grp2_blk) is allowed on the desert HK416 14.5" (Rhs_weap_hk416d145_d_grip2). There is no obvious reason for this.

Currently all grips are practically un-useable on the most commonly used M4 and M4 clones. Below is a list of one accessory and all of the grips which I've found to be disallowed.

ACE_acc_pointer_red

Rhsusf_acc_grp2  / _tan / _wd

Rhsusf_acc_grp3  / _tan / _wd

Rhsusf_acc_grip_ffg2

Rhsusf_acc_grip1

Rhsusf_acc_kac_grip

Rhsusf_acc_grip_rk2

Rhsusf_acc_grip_rk6

Rhsusf_acc_rvg_blk

Rhsusf_acc_rvg_de

Rhsusf_acc_tacsac_blk

Rhsusf_acc_tacsac_blue

Rhsusf_acc_tacsac_tan

Rhsusf_acc_tdstubby_blk

Rhsusf_acc_tdstubby_tan

Rhsusf_acc_grip3

Rhsusf_acc_grip3_tan

The arsenal allow list is maintained by hand. Contributions like yours are the most practical way of increasing coverage. Thank you.

Any time you see BLUFOR equipment filtered from a loadout and believe the gear in question should be allowed, submit the class name(s) and we will address it.
