  1. Recruit Training Schedule
(mouse-over a date to read the details of the class)

    INTRODUCTION

    Hello Recruits,
If you already haven't make sure you read this "Read First" thread before signing up for RCT

The calendar above provides the schedule of Recruit Training classes. Mouse-over a date to read details about the class.

New recruits are required to attend 1 Recruit Training Class to progress in the entry training pipeline. The entire pipeline must be completed to enter the unit.

Each Class has a student limit of 16 people so make sure you're on time to keep your spot.

You will need the the following mods:

    MOD LIST

Correctly installed and ready before you sign up for this class. These mods can and should be given to you by your Recruiter. If they have not already done so, seek out a different Recruiter. If you would like to test your mods, you may do so by contacting your recruiter or a recruit instructor to get access to a 15th server.

If you do not have these mods ready to go when the class starts, you will be asked to attend another time. This is meant to speed up classes and not make people wait for those who haven not taken the time to check their mods prior to class. I should be in the classroom channel approximately 15 minutes before the class starts to help anyone with problems.

    SUPPORT AND ADDITIONAL HELP

If you require extra assistance with your mods or just assistance in general, feel free to seek out any Recruiter or Recruit Instructor. They are here to help you to the best of their abilities and to make sure that your transition into the 15th is as easy as it can be. However, we also have help on the forums readily available for you.

If you would like a step-by-step instruction on how to properly install your mods, please refer to our Arma 3 Mod Installation Tutorial. If you have questions regarding mod installation, launcher setup, or even general questions about the 15th, feel free to ask at our Help Desk .

    FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions):

Q - What TeamSpeak Channel should I be in?
A - The channel can be anywhere in the "Classroom" section. The instructor for the class should post a global message in TeamSpeak confirming the channel to be in at or around 30 minutes, 15 minutes, and 5 minutes before class begins.

Q - What should I do if I cannot attend after signing up for a class?
A - The respectful thing to do would be to edit your sign up post and write "Disregard" or something similar. If you don't, and just do not attend the class, your class may wait extra time for you in case you "show up late."

Q - What should my name in TeamSpeak/in-game be?
A - As detailed in your Welcome Aboard PM, your name should be "Rct [Lastname]", without the brackets. The structure is the exact same in-game as well.

Q - What should I prepare and/or bring to recruit training?
A - The only thing you should have prepared is working mods (to the best of your ability), and a healthy desire to learn.

  2. Welcome Recruits to the 15th MEU Realism Unit's Recruit Training Pipeline!

Please make sure you read through this as it contains a lot of important information regarding Recruit training so you can have an enjoyable and knowledge-filled time with us!

    Are your mods correct?

The welcome message you received from the recruiter states you need to have checked your mods with them; PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP for any recruit classes until you have tested the mods in an official server with your recruiter.

If you're holding up the class due to errors in any way, the instructor will ask you to sign up for another class.

If your recruiter can not make it online at the same times as you due to time zones or any other real-life occupation, please refer to THIS LIST and find another Recruiting Staff member/ Recruiter who will be able to vouch for your mods in-game.

If, for some reason, you are unable to get in contact with a recruiter or you wish to attend a day one within 6 hours, you may PM @SSgt R. Parks as last resort.

If another recruiter gives you the "OK," then you're free to sign up for a class that suits you, while the recruiter who helped you informs your assigned recruiter that you're set and ready for a fantastic time with us in the 15th!

    Grooming/Facial Hair

Make sure before you enter your recruit class to remove any facial hair on your character - It is recommended that this is done the first time you start up arma 3 with our mods. Marines are clean-shaven, and you should be too.

    Sign up procedures

Make sure you use the correct signup procedure that's colored Orange at the bottom of the signup thread.

If this isn't done correctly, you will NOT be assigned to your desired class until it is done correctly. Any questions about this can be directed to your recruiter, though it should be straight forward.

    Road of Recruits

In this LINK, you can read the path you will be going through if you wish to have more detailed information before your recruit training class. This is not mandatory but highly recommended and encouraged.

    Time to Signup

Click the following link to sign up and make sure you read that post, too, as it will tell you all the mods required for your training class.

We are looking forward to seeing you with us and as a part of our brotherhood!

  3. Hello everyone,

Please read all of this before you sign up for one of our Recruit Training classes.

    • Classes and cycles may be cancelled or postponed if a minimum class size is not met. Instructors shall make this determination by who has signed up, so make sure you are signed up at least 8 hours ahead of class start.

    Don't be late. Be prepared.

    • You must have your mods working when class starts. It is your responsibility to have all of your mods functioning before the allotted class time. Instructors have the right to cycle you out of the class if your mods are not set up properly and on time.
    • Make sure that you have the correct username (same as the one on the forums) on TeamSpeak. Instructors often take attendance directly from the user list in TeamSpeak and will record the exact name that is listed there. If that name is incorrect, you will not receive credit for your attendance.
    • If you are going to be late, inform your instructor beforehand.

    Understand the class schedule.

    • Utilize the School of Infantry Calendar

  4. The Road For Recruits

The purpose of this thread is to give current and future recruits a better understanding of the 15th MEU Realism Unit entry level career path.

    In brief:

    1. Create a forum account.
    2. Apply to the unit and be accepted.
    3. Get in touch with your Recruiter and test your mods in an official server.
    4. Sign up for Recruit Training
    5. Complete Recruit Training and attend a rifle range.
    6. Sign up for an Infantry Training Battalion class cycle.
    7. Complete all 3 days of ITB in order and graduate.
    8. Report in to your designated Section.

    1. Create a forum account.

Click the Sign Up button in the upper right corner of the web page and create a user account for the forums.

    2. Apply to the unit, and be accepted.
Your first step toward joining the 15th MEU Realism Unit is to put in an application here. Below are some things to consider before putting in an application:

    • Minimum age requirement: 17 Years old. No exceptions.
    • Need to have Arma 3 installed. Your application will not be processed without a valid Player ID.
    • TeamSpeak 3 VoIP Client and working microphone/speakers/headset. You need to hear us, we need to hear you. You will not be allowed to begin initial training without these.
    • Ability to attend at least two of our unit wide events per month, held on Sundays from 19:00 (7:00pm) - 21:30 (9:30pm) Central Standard Time. Additionally, attendance of team, squad/section, and platoon/detachment events is required to keep an active status.

    3. Get in touch with your Recruiter and test your mods in an official unit server.

It is necessary for all students signed up for Recruit Training to have their mods and TeamSpeak plugins working, prior to starting class. This is to ensure you and other students have an enjoyable training experience. If you are new to Arma, or need help installing your mods, it is required that you meet with a Recruiter to facilitate the setup and testing of mods. They can provide you with an official unit server to load in, check to make sure your mods are working, and help troubleshoot any issues. When your application is accepted, you will be given the name of a Recruiter assigned to you.

    4. Sign up for Recruit Training

Recruit Training is a 2-hour long session designed to teach the basics of discipline and fundamentals of Arma expected of members in the 15th MEU Realism Unit. In the tradition of the Marines motto "Every Marine is a rifleman", it is a shared experience for all incoming 15th members that begins to teach players to work together as a team to achieve an objective. In the Phase 1 forum, you will find Recruit Training class threads and a calendar with the schedule of classes. Please sign up for the day, so the instructor for that class is aware you are coming. If your schedule changes, please amend your sign up to let the instructor know you're NOT coming. Then, sign up for a new class.

Show up for class at least 15 minutes ahead of class start, so that you can load into the server and be ready to go upon class start.

"If you're early, you're on time. If you're on time, you're late!" - Anonymous but wise Instructor

    5. Complete Recruit Training

Don't forget to attend training, once you've signed up! Plan for a two-hour session. If you must leave mid-class, it will be up to the instructor's discretion on whether you receive credit for completion.. You can preview some of the course content by reading the SOI Student Manual, but all of the information necessary to complete training will be given during training. Upon completion of Recruit Training, you will be given the 15th MEU(SOI) tag on TeamSpeak. This tag signifies you are part of the 15th MEU Realism Unit's School of Infantry, and will then be allowed to sign up for the Infantry Training Battalion.

You must complete Days 1 through 3 in order, but you can choose from any schedule to complete all three. Once Day 3 is completed, you'll be given further instructions for reporting into your chosen billet. Upon completion of Recruit Training, you will be given the 15th MEU(SOC) tag on TeamSpeak. This tag signifies you are part of the 15th MEU Realism Unit and serves as our "uniform" both in and out of game. Wear it with pride and respect of the long history it symbolizes.

    6. Sign up for an Infantry Training Battalion class cycle.

At the end of Recruit Training you will be given access to the Phase 2 forums and will be allowed to sign up for an ITB Class Cycle. All Privates must complete the Infantry Training Battalion. This consists of three 2-hour sessions, which are described further in the Phase 2 forums. It is preferred you sign up for one class cycle and stick with that class all the way through, but we understand real life schedules may make this difficult. Communicate with the instructors if you need to switch classes mid cycle.

    7. Attend all 3 ITB days in order and graduate

The 3 days must be completed in order. Completion of the three days is required for full entry into the unit. You will also be allowed to attend a Rifle Range and fill-in for training events while you wait to graduate. Upon completion of Day 3, you will be asked to choose an MOS (Military Occupational Specialty). Once your graduation is processed, you will have access to the appropriate forum to report in. If you have a desired Platoon/Detachment and Squad/Section, you may request it. Most requests are granted, however staffing changes occur often and you may have to provide a backup billet choice in case the billet you requested is closed.

    8. Report in to your designated section.

Once you have completed ITB, you will report to your designated section. It is crucial to know what you want to do by the end of ITB. At the end of ITB, you will be assigned to a section. Once assigned, you will report to your designated section that you choose. As a new Private into the unit, you will only be allowed certain Billets/Positions.

    Ground Combat Element

0311 Rifleman: Rifleman, Grenadier, Automatic Rifleman

0331 Machine Gunner: Machine Gunner, Assistant Machine Gunner

    Battalion Aid Station

    HM-8404 Corpsman

    Armor Composite Platoon

1842 Armor Crewman: Armor Driver, Armor Gunner

    Aviation Combat Element

    6174 Helicopter Crew Chief

These Positions Listed are Billets open to new privates. Once apart of the unit, you will learn there are more opportunities than these. If you have any questions about any of these Billets or would like to know any more Billets feel free to message to your recruiter or SOI Staff.

    9. Have fun!

Regularly check the Game Organizing forum. This is a gaming community, and there is something happening in and out of Arma 3 ALL THE TIME! Join the Public Server; strap a rocket-launcher to your Ghillie-suited sniper loadout, and work with non-15th gamers toward goals in different Arma game modes! (Emphasis on work WITH each other!) There is something always happening here. Check the forums regularly and join the 15th Discord to keep up on the latest information.

    Sincerely,

    S3 Training & Ops Staff
