If the map is Altis, you DO NOT NEED
any of the four mods: CUP Terrains
or G.O.S Al Rayak
If the map is Chernarus, Nogovo, Sahrani or Takistan, you MUST
also download CUP Terrains
mod. NOTE: 99% of the time this is required as we play on these four maps!
If the map is Kundaz, you MUST
also download Kundaz
If the map is Clafghan, you MUST
also download Clafghan
If the map is AL Rayak, you MUST
also download G.O.S Al Rayak
If you are crewing an aircraft or vehicle, you MUST
also download Task Force Arrowhead Radio
mod. NOTE: Without TeamSpeak and TFAR, you will be at a huge disadvantage as you will not be able to hear orders or enemy locations.

Wherever possible, I will provide links to the Steam Workshop for automatic updates and links to ARMAholic or the developer's website for manual updates.
The benefits of automatic updates is that you don't have to download the whole file again when there is only changes to a small portion of the file.
However, the recruiting server does not always run on the latest version of certain mods, so you will be forced to download the older version from ARMAholic or the developer's website.
The mods needed to play on the recruiting server are:NOTE: I found using a FTP client (e.g. Filezilla) to download the RHS mods was faster as the FTP client could be started up multiple times and could download up to ten files per client. Whereas the updater would only download one file per mod (USAF/GREF/AFRF).
What is the new STHUD/STUI occlusion system?
If you do not have a valid line-of-sight on a unit, their marker will begin to fade away, becoming invisible after a few moments. Re-establishing line-of-sight will cause the marker to fade in again. Moving through dense terrain such as heavy woods or jungle thus makes keeping line of sight that much more important.

Troubleshooting GuideVersion Mismatch Error
If you get an error message similar to the image below, you may be able to continue playing on the server in some circumstances. If you are unable to play because of a version mismatch (e.g. ACE), you will need to either upgrade or downgrade your mod to match the server's version. This type of error can be ignored as it continues to allow you to play. The message above lets you know what version you are running versus what version the server is running. In the above example, I'm running CBA_A3 at version 188.8.131.52105 when the server is running 184.108.40.206012.This type of error CANNOT be ignored as it will prevent you from playing on the server. I'm running ACE3 on version 220.127.116.11 but the server is still running on 18.104.22.168Task Force Arrowhead Radio Version Mismatch Error
You can pretty much ignore these two error messages as TFAR runs on anything higher than verison 0.9.8. When the server is upgraded, which I don't think is on the cards at the moment, this error message will no longer appear.ACE3 Compatible Mods warning
If you get the following warning, follow the steps listed below. I personally do not use ACE3 on other servers so I have gone with the alternative method instead of loading up another mod folder, but the choice is yours.
You need to move the follow .pbo and .bisign files for the instructions below:
How to install these components?
Alternative method to install optionals
- Inside your Arma 3\@ace\ folder, you’ll find the optionals and addons folders.
- Inside the Arma 3 folder create a new folder e.g. Arma 3\@ace_optionals\ and a subfolder Arma 3\@ace_optionals\addons
- Copy and paste the relevant .pbo and .bisign files from the Arma 3\@ace\optionals folder into the Arma 3\@ace_optionals\addons folder.
The above steps were taken from ACE3's website.
- Inside your Arma [email protected]/ folder, you’ll find the optionals and addons folders.
- Copy and paste the relevant .pbo and .bisign files from the optionals folder into the addons folder.
- Copy and paste the userconfig folder from the optionals folder into root Arma 3 folder.
