"RC_..." folders stand for "Release Candidate" and are only meant to be downloaded by the QA Team to test future updates to the mod pack.

That last picture shows that you are running mods that are not on the server. Probably because you're running the RC folders.

Help Desk / How to opt out of the forum chat bar?

Topic. How do I turn off the chat bar function on the forums? Its lagging my mobile connection and it hogs most of my screen when I zoom in.

Still very slow for the first time I try to navigate to the forums but once I'm there it's normal.

Same problem. Tried several times today with no luck. Probably their end as already stated but just reporting the facts since it seems I will soon be in non-compliance with unit rules.

Will the updater do the trick?

Yes. It is recommended to use the updater.

Help Desk / Re: Spawning as a Seagull
« on: March 07, 2016, 12:22:31 PM »
I'm not looking at it right now, but when I was setting up my mission in Eden, there was a tab that I want to say is called attributes. This then drops down into a multiplayer menu with settings for respawn and things like that. Maybe you have it set in there to respawn as seagull and it's conflicting with your description ext? It seemed to default every time I tested it. Worth checking out if you haven't already.

I was told that the description ext file was no longer needed and a possible cause for conflicts. The in editor attributes are the new standard.

but wouldnt that just screw with the maps? how does having a slightly outdated terrain pack lead to no sound when launching with mods?

The mysteries of ARMA are a wondrous and terrible thing. Don't ask; just thank the ARMA gods for being merciful this one time.

Help Desk / Re: Custom Mod Packs.

-create a folder "@Other" in your root ARMA directory
-inside "@Other" create a folder called "addons"
-inside "addons" place all of your desired PBOs
-activate "@Other" like you would any other mod pack in the game

Be aware that chopping up an existing compilation modpack for specific PBOs might break the whole thing as one PBO in the pack could rely on another PBO to function.

Did you try A3Launcher?

Help Desk / Re: Sounds not coming (not because im not running EODS)

Eden broke the default laucher for some people. Try the third party launcher "A3Launcher" and report back.

An ARMA reinstall won't fix the issue.

Help Desk / Re: Addon 'Trixie_recon' requires addon 'asdg_jointrail'
« on: February 10, 2016, 11:07:53 PM »
Yes, you need to run CBA separately, jointrails is apart of CBA which almost every mod uses. That's why you're getting the error.

i understand that Capt but i was asking because once i download the 15th Pack i only get the @15MEU pack that it no cba is extracted

That's because when I uploaded the full 4.1 pack to Penny I forgot to include the current copy of CBA. Normally we package @15thMEU and @CBA_A3 together and I forgot this time. Sorry about that. See link below:

Help Desk / Port Forwarding Help
« on: February 10, 2015, 10:31:02 PM »
I'm trying to connect a remote camera through my home WiFi. The setup guide for the camera says I have to open up a specific port. I understand how to access my router and where to find the port forwarding section but I do not understand all of the fields.

The two fields I don't know are IPv4 and IPv6. I understand those are IP addresses ( for example) but is that field asking for my router's IPs or the camera's IP?

When I do an ipconfig I see a bunch of fields including the IPv4 and IPv6 address for "Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection". Is that what I'm supposed to use?

Sourced a replacement CMOS battery and that did not fix anything. So unless anyone has another idea I'm ready to declare the patient dead.

For the record its an MSI P6N SLI Platinum mobo.

« on: September 02, 2014, 06:25:46 PM »
1: Didn't do the paper clip test but when I fire it up all the lights inside the case come on (green and orange light on MOBO). All of the fans (PSU, CPU, GPU, Case) come on. The CD-ROM light is blinking and the HD seems to be spinning. Hard to tell if its actually trying to read anything. I removed a USB expansion card, the Sound Card and unplugged the power to the GPU. The computer now appears to run continuously but still nothing happens. No beeps, no BIOS, nothing.

2: I next removed all of the memory and fired it back up. No beeps, no BIOS, nothing. Exact same result as in "1".

3. Not attempted.

With this new information are we looking at a dead MOBO?

Help Desk / Computer Fails to start
« on: August 30, 2014, 05:07:11 PM »
Here's one I've never encountered before:

I recently plugged in an old computer of mine and when I pressed the power button it appears to power on but nothing happens. Then a few seconds later it powers off. No beeps. No Bios. Nothing. It has sat, unplugged, for approximately 2 years. It's been in my office so there's no concern of environmental damage and the inside of the case is relatively dust free.

Poking around google suggests an electrical fault of some kind but I'd like to get second opinions. Any ideas?

Help Desk / Re: SMAW crash
« on: July 26, 2014, 12:01:10 AM »
Use MCC to create a box and put a SMAW into it. There appears to be a link between the SMAW and ammo box mod. I would like to isolate it as much as we can.

Also try disabling the ammo box mod and see if the crash persists.

Aaron, did the class name of the SMAW change in the latest update or anything else about it that may indicate a conflict with the ammo boxes?

Thanks for doing this Col. With so many people running around these days it can be daunting for someone of your station to connect with the entry level tiers of our unit and even more daunting for the newer people to get to know their CO. This is a great way for everyone to get a chance to get a peek inside your head and get to know you a little better.

Thanks for your many years of leadership. I look forward to seeing what comes of this blog.

Help Desk / Re: Logitech devices freeze during gameplay A3

Occurred again in a different game. I rolled back my game drivers to 8.45.88 and the mouse is no longer "detected" in the software GUI. However, it still works and it seems to have remembered the G key settings I gave it with the 8.51 gui. Odd but I am not complaining.

Lets see if the older drivers fix the issue.

Have you created any profiles and or remaped keys on either the keyboard or mouse?

Not other than during the initial setup. What are your thoughts?

I'm using 8.51.5 and it was suggested to try 8.40.x. Maybe that will solve it.

For further info I haven't noticed any issues at any time other than during the op.
